The Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County has named Bonded Builders Sales and Marketing Director Barry Tutor as its 2011 Associate Member of the Year.
During the annual Installation and Holiday Party held Dec. 9 at the Renaissance Hotel in North Hills, the HBA also named Lyle Gardner, president of Spectrum Homes and Evergreen Construction Company, as 2011 Builder of the Year; Grant Dickens as 2011 Rookie Member of the Year; and Nancy Latz, a sales associate of Closet Creations as 2011 Affiliate Member of the Year.
Barry was selected for his outstanding leadership for the association over the last several years. In addition to sponsorships, Tutor provides his involvement at the local, state and national associations. He has also served as a HBA board of directors member and on the executive committee for the North Carolina Home Builders Association.
The HBA’s Builder of the Year, Lyle Gardner Gardner has been a home builder in Wake County for more than 40 years. He was selected as builder of the year for his leadership of the association at the local, state and national levels. In addition his character is what many builders strive to demonstrate. Gardner served as HBA president in 1992 and was the 2010 president of the North Carolina Home Builders Association.
“Homes are a place to raise families and create a strong community,” Gardner said after receiving the award. “I have enjoyed my role in providing home ownership for North Carolina families.”
As a rookie HBA member and recent employee of Rufty Homes, Dickens quickly became involved in the association’s Remodelers Council and served as chair of their community outreach committee in 2011.
As chair, he unexpectedly found himself involved with a large national television rescue remodel where he had to manage several members in the process.
