Imagine loving your builder as much as you do your new home! That’s the challenge Jim and Pal Bennett of Bennett Construction Services in Ocala, Fla., make to homebuyers. How committed are they to being loved? Check out their website loveyourbuilder.com.
Jim and Pal (short for Palmira) have been building homes in the small-but-growing city of Ocala, which is off I-75 about 30 miles south of Gainesville and the University of Florida, since 2003. Jim has more than 30 years of commercial and residential construction experience. He started working for his father, also a home builder, when he was 10. At 19, Jim built his first house on his own.
After graduate from the University of Florida, he went to work for an engineer and then several other home builders and commercial builders around the state before settling in Ocala.
Working with homebuyers all through the process of design, construction and delivery helps make the process go smoothly and buyers know exactly what to expect. Jim and Pal walk them through the process, helping them get a sense of what the final home will be like to live in before they even break ground.
Jim and Pal are know for unique designs and trim packages that make homes seem larger than they really are. They can make a 2,500-square-foot home seem like a 3,000 square-foot home.
With careful designs and meticulous planning, building green is a natural part of the process. In fact, one customer was so impressed with what Jim and Pal could do, he challenged them to build a “net-zero” home that they recently completed. With green building practices, solar panels and geothermal cooling, the home actually generates more power than it consumes. The homeowner gets paid for the power he puts back into the grid. (Read more about their net-zero home here.)
One important choice homebuyers have to make is what they want their doorbell to sound like. Homeowners get to choose and so far Jim and Pal have delivered everything from the Gators Fight Song to the theme from “Bonanza.” The more unique choices are featured here.
Loveyourbuilder.com is definitely one of the more creative websites we seen. And judging from the testimonials, it’s clear that their customers really do “Love their builder.”Share
